Hi guys,

How did you all feel about todays test???? I'm using the blog to vent out my frustrations. Eventhough I studied my butt off for this test, I thought that it was really hard. So I'm just really depressed. I'm going to start fresh next week and forget about the test I just took.
Ok, I'm starting to feel better :)
See you next week

Fernisa
I can't find your email anywhere and do not know how to get hold of you.
I think that there might be a little miscommunication on the reading and exam schedule for N4. I organized all of the multiple conflicting schedules that were given to us and organized them into 1 page.
Here is the link to an accurate schedule.
http://deltarnstudents.blogspot.com/2005/08/n4-reading-lecture-and-exam-schedule.html
I did not know about the 1130-1230 study, so I appologize for missing it. I would have been able to go to that one.
Thanks for letting me sit in on your 14oo-1500 immunity group.
Dameron Tues/Wed am

Hey there all...this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. we are going to meet at Dameron Hospital, Conference room B in the cafeteria. Feel free to bring your own lunches or buy at Dameron before our meeting.

Hi hi!

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to print Caralee's powerpoints WITH the notes that she has added to her powerpoint? For instance in her "outline" you see the outline to the left of the screen (in powerpoint on your comp) and the slide to the right, below the slide she has some great notes...

So is there a way to print the powerpoint presentation with those notes???

Thanks!

Dameron Tues/Wed am....

Hey there y'all! I sent an email to Be with the Vietmanese Student Association and requested permission for us to attend their meeting this tuesday...I am sure it wont be a problem. Please do me a favour, if you want to go with me to the meeting make a list of questions you want to ask and bring them with you on Tuesday. I know some of you wanted to go to the library, so maybe we can split up the group, some to library some to the meeting? Their meeting is at 1 pm, so I am going to send Richard M an email requesting that we are able to go a little early.... Please let me know if this sounds good to you. I have some more info for you guys about some of the other things I asked Be to do...but will not share them on such an open forum so that they will be a surprise to our audience :)!!!!!

See you all tomorrow in skills lab:), ps...Su Salud was fun, have ideas already for next year! :)
Hi Future Nurses,

Please remember about the test study session tomarrow, Monday, September 26, 2005 at 5pm in the South forum.

I have also posted some of my old lectures on stress and immunity on Nursing 101 success. Make sure to allow time to download them ( they are big with lots of pictures) and read the note section on the power point.

Another section full of information on docushare is the lecutres by "Steve Itaya". They are very helpful.

As for the Friday/ Saturday clinical groups, because the cultural presentation is on Tuesday October 4, 2005, there will not be clinical on October 8, 2005.

See everyone tommarrow!!

Just wanted to let you guys know that Fern will be talking about diabetes on the 3rd of october @ 9am (Locke 228). Every week she'll be talking about different systems, for e.g respiratory system, urinary system, cardiovascular and so on. I highly recomend that we attend these meetings because when we get to the different systems in lecture, we will have an overview of how it works, what it does and how its affected with different diseases. Again this is one of the resources available to us; lets take advantage of it, after all we are the ones that will benefit from it.
For those of you volunteering @ Su Salud on Sat, see you then.

Have a great week.

The Precise Neurological Exam

Hey guys this is a good description of a neuro exam that is done on "comatose" patients. It looks a little advanced for us as far as cranial nerves and things go, but it is interesting to see how the function of the brain in these patients are measured.

PS: Dameron tues/wed am group....I noticed that another group had taken pictures...if you all dont mind next tues I will bring a camera, you all can bring one too for pictures of our group ;)

take care, see you all soon! :)

This is for the tue-wed dameron group. What do we need to take for clinical tomorrow??? Since space is an issue @ Lodi, I didn't want to take my bag pack. And we can't park in the parking lot right, so we park on the street like we did today.

Dear Future Nurses 2007,
Please Read for Clarification:
Nursing 101- All students are signed up for this class. This is the class under which the focus seminars and any tutoring takes place. Do not remove this class. Year 1 is signed up with Fernisa and Year 2 with me. This is for Delta paperwork only. No grade is assigned. It is only for your benefit. Otherwise you will be filling out an add form for each session you attend.

ATI scores- Starting Wednesday some people will receive an "Academic Alert" regarding the ATI scores just received. This is just the mode of notification we elected to utilize to notify people. If you receive an "alert", please make an appointment with Fern or I to review your scores to make sure you are plugged into all the benefits at Delta College. Remember, this is just to assist you to be successful.

Nursing Success Group- As soon as our passwords are approved we will be starting a folder on docushare. There will be an ongoing calendar of all focus group and study sessions. I am hoping for the end of this week. We are going to have a study session for the next N1 test, Monday September 12, 2005 at 5pm. I am waiting for room confirmation. I will let you know as soon as possible.Several students have requested a pharmacology update. I will let Fern know and we will schedule this ASAP. Once the folder is on docushare, we will be placing websites, practice problems and other items to help you.

Let us know what else we can do.
Caralee and Fern

Hey Mike, I need your expertise for posting. I have a lot of links to post into your test bank and I can't get it to stop double spacing. How do I fix this? I want the links single spaced as before.
Thanks,
Bonnie
Hi guys,

I have a huge favor to ask you. Most of you have the Nursing 1 Instructional Material (light blue cover) I assume, well I'm missing page 61 of that package and was wondering if someone would let me make a copy of that page.
Its part of appendix A on cultural presentation outline.
If someone would be knid enough to let me borrow their pg, that would be wonderful.
See you thursday

Hi There,

So has anyone bought their nursing constellation from skyscape or epocrates. I've been looking at both of them and it seems to me that what I want is not all in the bundle, just part of it is. What do you do? Do you purchase the bundle and whatever else you want separately. For e.g I want the tabers medical dictionary and its not part of any bundle. Since I'm new to this, your input would be greatly appreciated.
St. Joseph's Clinical Groups

Can someone tell me when we are supposed to meet at on Tuesday. I can't remember if it is 7:00 or 7:30.

Also, we don't need to bring anything except ourselves dressed in scrubs, shoes, patch, and badge...right?!?

thanks for filling me in!

Dear Future Nurses2007,

I want to let everyone know about the “Academic Alert” messages you might receive via "snail mail" next week from Fernisa Sison, Nursing Faculty for Nursing 101. Fern and I elected to utilize this system to alert the students we would like to see regarding the ATI scores just released. This alert does not mean you are in jeopardy of failing the Nursing 1 or the program. It is just a notification system available for faculty to use throughout the campus.

If you receive a notice, we would like you to make an appointment with either Ferisa Sison (209)954-5492 at Lock 214 or myself at (209) 954- 5493 at Lock 222 to review the information and scores. Our goal is to plug everyone into the resources available at San Joaquin Delta College and make them successful.

Please feel free to contact Fernisa or myself with any questions regarding the alert and system.

Lastly, good luck with the next transition to the clinical environment this week. I look forward to hearing about your stories and experiences.
